INSPECTIONS

Are Your AEDs Tested, Maintained, and Ready to Save Lives?

AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are crucial for emergency situations, and their maintenance is essential for ensuring they function properly when needed. While AEDs perform regular self-tests to verify readiness, including daily, weekly, and monthly checks, additional inspections are necessary to ensure comprehensive preparedness.

How Often Should an AED Be Inspected?

Daily: Verify the status indicator to confirm that the device has passed its latest self-test and is ready for use.

Monthly: Inspect supplies and accessories for any damage and check expiration dates.

Annually: Schedule a thorough inspection by a qualified professional to evaluate all electrical and mechanical components of the device.

Note: Inspection frequency may vary based on manufacturer recommendations and local regulations. Additionally, ensure the AED is kept in a secure and accessible location.
